Since I am programming all the time of the day and dealing with my localhost server’s files. Navigating to the files is not that easy specially when going to the files you are editing is under a lot of folders and subdirectories. Until there is a time I wonder if there is such an easier way of doing it here in Windows since I’m using Windows 7 Ultimate in my machine. In searching for it I found an article which talks about the solution and here is his solution:
One of the easier way of doing things in Windows is SHORTCUT Keys.
So what we are trying to accomplish is to create a shortcut keys that will popup our most visited directory/folder in our machine.
In my case I use Ctrl+Alt+W stands for my www directory.
1. Open or navigate to the directory or folder that we are going to create a shortcut.
2. Right Click on the folder or directory and will create a shortcut for it to our Desktop.
3. And Go to the desktop where our shortcut for the directory is saved and right click on it. Then click the properties and the tab shortcut. And then highlight the textbox for the shortcut key and start to click your shortcut key. For example I clicked Ctrl key and Alt and the letter W key for me to have a Ctrl+Alt+W shortcut keys for my folder or directory.
Let me know if you have better way of doing it.
